After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Mike worked with Kenneth Leventhal, CPA’s and ultimately became the comptroller at Daon Development / BCED (Bell Canada Enterprises Development), a multi-billion dollar Real Estate firm. In 1989, he started his own development company.
Inspired by his father and brother, both home builders, he developed and built multiple residential communities throughout Orange and San Diego Counties between 1989 and 2002. He then tried his hand at hotel ownership in Las Vegas. For 18 years he was the owner-operator of a 225-room Hotel property in the bustling area between the Strip and the LV Convention Center. Mike also had the opportunity to build and operate a 200-unit gated apartment complex on 11 acres in North Las Vegas.
Seeking a new frontier, he relocated to Boise in 2018. Mike holds a commercial IFR multi-engine pilot license and enjoys fishing, e-biking, cooking, gardening, golfing, spending time with his wife, Cindy and being Dad to grown sons, Nathan and Jack.
Lou grew up on a ranch outside of Cushing, Oklahoma. Spending his days with his studies, playing sports and riding horses, Lou went on to earn his degree in business from Oklahoma State. After graduation, Lou spent time as a marketing representative with the Armstrong Cork Company before entering the world of real estate and home building. The concrete industry eventually caught Lou’s attention and after more than 10 years of serving as a V.P. and General Manager for Standard Concrete, upon being recruited in 1981, Lou and his wife purchased a concrete plant in Montebellow, California in 1993, selling the plant in 2011.
Subsequently, Lou and Mike Talbott, having been friends for many years, became partners in a small Las Vegas hotel and condominium project. After the sale of the hotel, Lou and Mike established Vida Properties and are excited to contribute to Garden City’s growing popularity and vitality.
Nathan grew up in Southern California and earned his BS in Business Management from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He threw discus and hammer while at Boulder and further developed his love for snowboarding. Following graduation, he moved to Las Vegas in order to learn the family business, operation of a 225-room hotel right off the Strip. Rising to the position of General Manager, he became familiar with all aspects of hotel operation. Upon the sale of that property, he returned to So Cal to take a position with Forte Homes, a high-end custom homebuilder, where he discovered a particular interest in construction and development. In 2019, he relocated to Boise and began work as an Owner’s Representative for Vida Properties as they build The Boardwalk in Garden City. Nate enjoys gardening, camping, gaming, and spending quality time with his wife, Erika, and their wonderful two dogs- a Silver Lab, Hazel, and a Black Lab, Finnley.
Steven joined the Vida Properties team in 2008 as the financial controller. Leading the Accounting & Insurance Departments, Steven controls and is responsible for all transactional matters for the business including, but not limited to, accounting, reporting, budgeting, and insurance management. Steven has over 13 years’ experience in providing professional services across a broad range of finance areas including compliance, business process, audit, and financial reporting.
Prior to joining Vida, Steven was in the Navy for 9 years. During that time, he received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland in 2008.
Kelly, born and raised in Southern California, graduated from The University of Colorado at Boulder with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Growing up in a bustling household alongside two older brothers, and a younger sister, Kelly thrived as a dedicated high school athlete, excelling in competitive sports such as tennis, swimming, and basketball.
Now, as a wife and mother of two sons, Kelly relishes in family time, whether engaging in DIY home remodeling projects with her husband or participating in spirited soccer matches with her children. With over 10 years of experience in Human Resources Management across the Hospitality, Professional Staffing, and Marketing industries, Kelly discovered her passion for Operations and Project Management. Joining the Vida Properties team in 2023 as a Project Administrator, Kelly is committed to bringing our collective visions to fruition.

Passionate about cultivating talent, Darren finds fulfillment in training new employees across all facets of maintenance, ensuring a cohesive and skilled team. While he has worked extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest, including Oregon and Washington, Darren’s heart has always been in Idaho, his hometown.
Outside of work, Darren indulges in his love for fishing, particularly favoring Halibut fishing off the Oregon Coast. He cherishes moments spent with his wife of 30 years, Vicki, and takes great joy in the company of his three grown children and six grandchildren.

Beyond the stage, Jack finds joy in storytelling, gaming, and spending quality time with friends. He is known for his flair for costume design, crafting his creations for events, such as cosplaying as Super Mario for conventions and appearing in the Idaho Renaissance Faire, where he embodies his unique rendition of Santa Claus.
